77th Liberation Day from Japanese Occupation Dumaguete

 

77th Liberation Day Celebration of Dumaguete City is an event to commemorate the end of the Japanese Occupation of Negros Oriental 



 

 Sir Judge Rafael Crescencio Tan of the Sons and Daughters of the Veterans with Mayor Felipe Antonio B Remollo as GOHAS. Participated by members of 4th and 5th Dumaguete City Veterans Post VFP, SDAI VFP 2nd and 3rd Districts with Dumaguete City, Tanjay City, Bais City, and Valencia Chapters, 703RRBn Officers, and EP, 703CDC headed by Maj Alvin Aurel PA which provided the 3 volleys of fire, and with medical services rendered by 5051TASU 505TASG 5TASBDE headed by Major Kenneth T Coo MC (Res) after the ceremony.

 


The flag-raising ceremony and Liberation Day Program were held at Manuel Quezon Park with a wreath-laying ceremony in front of the Liberation Marker.


Mayor Remollo paid tribute to the gallantry and sacrifices of the heroes of World War II to liberate Dumaguete City from the occupying Japanese forces and expressed optimism that the youth today will treasure and defend the freedoms we are enjoying now.

 


The organizing committee with VFP, LGU Dumaguete City for the physical arrangements and sound system, to SUROTC Unit Training Staff and Cadet Officers headed by Lt Rodolfo Jull Locsin Jr and Cdt Col Sofie Rodrigazo Corps Commander and AFP female Cadet of the year 2021 and Red Shield Fraternity for the honor guards, wreath layers, bugler and breakfast distribution. Thank you PVAO FESO headed by Alnes Grace Teves and PVB Dumaguete City Branch headed by Melanie Ozoa. The province of Negros Oriental was represented by Dr Henry A Sojor  on behalf of Governor Roel Ragay Degamo .
