              Rover Scout  Josefino "Sir Penn " Larena  Jr.

Boy Scout History of Mr. Josefino  T.Larena Jr. started as Kab and Junior Scout @ C.V.P.C now Negros Oriental State University 1987-1992 ,Senior Scout @ Colegio de Santa Catalina de Alejandria 1992-1996, he was awarded a Presidential Merit Award for Scouting and Volunteerism in May 1996 from the COSCA President 






Rover Scout of Silliman University Batch 1999, a full member from 1999 to  2001, and Paul Doltz Service Awardee in 1999. Merit Badge Counsellor in 2018 ,he wrote several articles about Boy Scout events, activities, and was the first person to write a short History of Boy Scouts in Negros Oriental from 1920s to 2014. BSP member for the fiscal year 2018 to the present. Delegate to the 2019 National Scouting Jamboree in Botolan Zambales .Rover Scout Larena also serves on the Board of Review for the BSP.


He is also the guest speaker of the 2020 and 2021  Philippine Independence Day celebration of the BSP Negros Oriental -Siquijor Council. Virtual Speaker of the National Scouting Kick-off of the local council. He is a recipient of the 2020 National Bronze Service Award from the Boy Scouts of the Philippines. During National Scouting Month 2022 he was awarded the BSP National Service Award -Silver .

 

He is currently the Outfit Adviser of the St. Paul University Scouting Troop for the School Year 2022-2023. The tremendous success of the activity embodied the spirit of patriotism and nationalism, exemplified by the Rizalian Spirit.

Major Juan Dominado

Juan Dominado, a hero of World War II, was a member of the Organization of the 75th Infantry Regiment 7th Military District (Recognized Guerrilla). He was initially assigned as commanding officer of the 75th Infantry Regiment 7th Military District's Intelligence Section, S-2. He set up an intelligence network to cover the Japanese Forces occupied territory in the province of Negros Oriental. The guerrilla 4th combat squad under him intended to inform the family and citizens in Dumaguete of General Mac Arthur's ayuda (aid) to support the group's operations and the needs of the locals. Negros Pride Month 2022

  The Humanist Alliance Philippines, International (HAPI) is once again taking up the torch to continue championing human rights, particularly that of the LGBTQIA+ community, by holding a series of comprehensive activities celebrating Pride Month   in   June.
